About the Instrument Tubing Pressure Test Record
Leaking impulse lines cause wrong readings and leaking air tubing wastes air and slows valves. Pressure hold tests during construction catch poor fittings before start up.
How to fill in this template
- Enter the test gauge and allowed drop.
- Isolate instruments and pressurise the line to test pressure.
- Record start pressure, hold, then record end pressure.
- Locate and fix leaks on failed lines and retest.
- Sign the record per system.
What the formulas do
- Drop (%) = (start − end) ÷ start × 100.
- PASS if drop ≤ allowed drop.

Frequently Asked Questions
What test pressure is used?
Per the project specification, often related to the line design pressure for impulse lines and the supply pressure for air tubing.
Does temperature affect the result?
Yes, gas pressure changes with temperature; avoid testing in changing sun.
Why remove transmitters?
Test pressure may exceed their overpressure limit.
