About the Pressure Gauge Data Sheet

Pressure gauges are cheap, but a gauge with the wrong range or no protection against pulsation fails quickly or is unreadable. A short data sheet gets the range, class and accessories right.

How to fill in this template

  1. Enter the operating and maximum pressure and any pulsation or vibration.
  2. Choose a scale range; the sheet shows normal pressure as % of range.
  3. Select dial size, accuracy class and materials for the service.
  4. Add accessories: valve, siphon for steam, snubber for pulsation, seal for corrosive fluids.
  5. Issue with the requisition.

What the formulas do

  • No formulas: specification document laid out in sections like an ISA 20 style data sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What range should a pressure gauge have?

Normal pressure about 30 to 75 % of full scale, with maximum pressure not above about 75 % for steady pressure.

Why fill a gauge with glycerine?

The liquid damps pointer movement from pulsation and vibration and protects the movement.

What does accuracy class 1.0 mean?

The permissible error is ± 1 % of the full scale span (EN 837).
