About These Unit Converters

Engineers switch between unit systems all day. A pressure gauge may read in psi while the P&ID says bar, a pump curve is in US GPM while the flow meter is ranged in m³/h, and a datasheet quotes viscosity in centipoise while the sizing software wants Pa·s.

We built this library to make those conversions quick and reliable. Each converter uses exact or internationally accepted conversion factors and shows the formula behind the answer, so you can check the maths and use it in your own calculations.

How to use a converter

  1. Pick a converter from the categories above or use the search box.
  2. Type your value and choose the From and To units.
  3. Read the result, the formula and the full table of equivalent values in every unit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these unit converters free to use?

Yes. Every converter on instrumentationblog.in is free, works in any browser and needs no sign up or download.

How accurate are the conversions?

All 714 units are stored using exact definitions where they exist (for example 1 inch = 0.0254 m and 1 lb = 0.45359237 kg) or internationally accepted values from NIST and the SI brochure. You can choose up to 12 significant digits on each converter.

Which converters are most useful for instrumentation engineers?

Pressure, volumetric and mass flow, temperature, viscosity, density, flow coefficient (Cv and Kv), electrical conductivity and the 4 to 20 mA calculator cover most day to day transmitter ranging, valve sizing and calibration work.

Can I link directly to a specific conversion?

Yes. Add from, to and v parameters to any converter link, for example ?from=bar&to=psi&v=10, and the page opens with those units and value already selected.
