Buffer Solution Explained

Two point calibration uses pH 7 and a buffer close to the process pH, such as 4 or 10. Buffer values change slightly with temperature, so meters correct them automatically.

Use fresh buffers; alkaline buffers absorb carbon dioxide from air and drift.

Buffer Solution: Typical Values

pH 4.01 bufferat 25 °C
pH 7.00 bufferat 25 °C
pH 10.01 bufferat 25 °C, least stable
