What is a Decision Rule?
A decision rule defines how measurement uncertainty is taken into account when stating that an instrument passes or fails its tolerance.
Decision Rule Explained
Simple acceptance compares the reading with the tolerance and ignores uncertainty. Guarded acceptance uses a guard band. ISO/IEC 17025 requires the rule to be agreed with the customer.
