How to Convert Mass Flow Rate Units
Mass flow rate is the mass of fluid passing a point per unit time (ṁ = ρ × Q). The SI unit is kilogram per second (kg/s); Coriolis meters, boilers and steam lines are usually ranged in kg/h, t/h or lb/h.
Every unit on this page is stored as a fixed factor relative to one reference unit, the kilogram per second (kg/s). Converting is a two step multiply and divide:
- Multiply your value by the factor of the source unit to get the value in kg/s.
- Divide that result by the factor of the target unit.
