Cold junction check (example K)
- Measure mV at the terminals: 3.096 mV.
- Terminal temperature 25 °C → add 1.000 mV.
- Total 4.096 mV → 100 °C.
- Add mV, never °C.

| Pt100 | B | ± (0.3 + 0.005 |t|) °C |
| K, N | 1 | ± 1.5 °C or 0.4 % |t| |
| J | 1 | ± 1.5 °C or 0.4 % |t| |
| T | 1 | ± 0.5 °C or 0.4 % |t| |

Frequently Asked Questions
Are these values exact?
They are calculated from the NIST ITS-90 reference functions to three decimals with a 0 °C reference junction.
Why is type B almost zero near room temperature?
Its output is tiny below about 50 °C, so cold junction errors hardly matter.
How do I use the table with a calibrator?
Set the calibrator to the mV for the test temperature with CJC off, or use the calibrator type setting with CJC on.
