About this Table

Flange pressure rating table for ASME B16.5 Group 1.1 materials, showing the maximum non shock working pressure for each class against temperature.

Basis: ASME B16.5 Table 2 1.1 (Group 1.1: A105 forgings, A216 WCB castings, A515 70, A516 70, A350 LF2). Ratings in bar gauge; linear interpolation between temperatures is allowed.

How to use

  1. Find the design temperature row; interpolate between rows if needed.
  2. Read across to the flange class.
  3. The design pressure must not exceed the value shown.

Notes

  • Other material groups (for example stainless 2.1 or 2.2) have different ratings.
  • Carbon steel above 425 °C is subject to graphitisation limits; check the standard notes.
  • The psig table is converted from bar and may differ by a few psi from the US customary table.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the pressure rating of a Class 150 flange?

19.6 bar g at −29 to 38 °C for Group 1.1, falling to 13.8 bar g at 200 °C.

What is the rating of a Class 300 flange?

51.1 bar g at ambient for Group 1.1.

Can I interpolate?

Yes. ASME B16.5 allows linear interpolation between tabulated temperatures.
