About this Table

Water density table with viscosity and thermal properties of liquid water at atmospheric pressure from 0 to 100 °C.

Basis: IAPWS IF97 for density and specific heat, IAPWS 2008 for viscosity and IAPWS 2011 for thermal conductivity, at 1.01325 bar (saturated liquid at 100 °C).

How to use

  1. Find the water temperature.
  2. Use density for DP level and mass flow calculations.
  3. Use kinematic viscosity for Reynolds number.

Notes

  • Water is densest at about 4 °C (999.97 kg/m³).
  • 1 mPa·s = 1 cP and 1 mm²/s = 1 cSt.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the density of water at 25 °C?

997.05 kg/m³.

What is the viscosity of water at 20 °C?

About 1.002 mPa·s (cP).

Why does density matter for DP level?

The transmitter reads pressure; level = pressure ÷ (density × g).
