About this Table

Superheated steam table giving enthalpy and specific volume for common boiler and turbine pressures and temperatures.

Basis: IAPWS IF97 industrial formulation for water and steam. Saturation temperature is shown beside each pressure.

How to use

  1. Find the pressure row (absolute).
  2. Read across to the steam temperature.
  3. Blank cells are below saturation: the steam would be wet, not superheated.

Notes

  • Density = 1 ÷ specific volume.
  • Degree of superheat = steam temperature − saturation temperature.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the enthalpy of steam at 10 bar a and 300 °C?

3051.7 kJ/kg.

What is the density of steam at 40 bar a and 400 °C?

About 13.62 kg/m³.

Why are some cells blank?

That temperature is below the saturation temperature for the pressure.
