About the DP Transmitter Calibration Report
DP transmitters measure small pressure differences at high line pressure. Besides the usual 5 point test, a zero check at line pressure reveals the static pressure effect, which can be a large error at low ranges.
How to fill in this template
- Enter tag, range in mbar and tolerance.
- With the transmitter in service, close HP and LP valves, open the equaliser and record the zero at line pressure; then vent and record the zero at atmosphere.
- Isolate, connect the pressure standard to the HP side and vent the LP side.
- Apply each test point upscale and downscale and record the as found output.
- Trim zero and span if any point fails, record as left values, and return the manifold to service in the correct sequence.
What the formulas do
- Applied DP = LRV + span × test point %.
- Expected output = 4 + 16 × test point % mA.
- Error (% span) = (measured − expected) ÷ 16 × 100.
- Static pressure zero shift = (zero at line pressure − zero at atmosphere) ÷ 16 × 100.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why check zero at line pressure?
Line pressure deforms the sensor and shifts the zero. Trimming zero at line pressure removes this offset.
Should I calibrate in square root mode?
Calibrating in linear mode is simpler; if square root is used, compare against the square root expected current.
Which side gets the pressure?
The HP side, with the LP side open to atmosphere.
